Somali Environment Action Group (SEAG) is non-profit making, non-sectarian
and development organization that was established and registered in 2015 in
Somalia by Somali Young Environmental Educators with the main aim of
finding durable solution to the Somalia’s socio-political climate challenges that
include but not limited to deforestation, overgrazing, soil erosion and
desertification.
SEAG operates in all the regions of Somalia with its top priority being to create
an environment that is conductive for sustainable development by helping
communities to secure, sustain and develop all natural resources and
environment to attain self-reliance and meaningful prosperity.
Above all, SEAG has operated quite freely in Somalia with full cooperation
with the local authorities – political, traditional and religious elders and women
groups. SEAG’s operation cuts through the faulty and dividing lines of subclans as we are seen to be impartial, neutral and apolitical.
Mission
The mission of Somali Environment Action Group is to work with all
stakeholders in local community development within and beyond Somalia to
advance development with special emphasis on environmental conservation
and development through strategies that empowers men, women, and youth
to contribute positively to the social, economic and cultural growth of the
Country
